Pineapple Jalapeño Agua Fresca (Printable)

A vibrant pineapple and jalapeño refresher with lime and agave, served chilled over ice.

# What You Need:

→ Fruit & Vegetables

01 - Fresh pineapple, peeled and cubed — 4 cups
02 - Jalapeño, medium, seeded for milder heat and chopped — 1 pepper
03 - Fresh lime juice — from 1 lime (about 1 tablespoon)

→ Liquids & Sweeteners

04 - Cold water — 3 cups
05 - Agave syrup — 2 tablespoons (or granulated sugar, adjust to taste)
06 - Ice cubes — as needed for serving

# Directions:

01 - Place pineapple, chopped jalapeño, fresh lime juice, agave syrup (or sugar) and cold water into a blender.
02 - Blend on high until the mixture is completely smooth and homogenous, about 30–60 seconds depending on blender power.
03 - Taste and modify sweetness or heat: add more agave or sugar for sweetness or additional jalapeño (with seeds for more heat) as desired.
04 - If a smoother, clearer beverage is preferred, pour the blended mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a pitcher, pressing with the back of a spoon to extract liquid.
05 - Fill glasses with ice, pour the agua fresca over the ice, and garnish with pineapple wedges or thin jalapeño slices as desired.

# Expert Suggestions:

01 -
  • The sweet-spicy combo will have everyone asking for your secret ingredient.
  • It’s so simple you can whip up a batch whenever the mood—or the heat—strikes.
02 -
  • Bland pineapple will sink the whole drink, so always taste before blending.
  • Leaving a few seeds in the jalapeño ups the excitement, but beware—just a few can turn the heat way up.
03 -
  • Chop the pineapple into small cubes for faster, smoother blending.
  • Let the blended drink chill for an hour if time allows to meld the flavors—the wait is worth it.
